Google and friends open-source Grafeas API to clean up software supply chains

The internet giant’s long list of friends includes JFrog Ltd., Red Hat Inc., IBM Corp., Black Duck Software Inc., Twistlock Ltd, Aqua Security Software Ltd. and CoreOS Inc. Cloudmunch, a DevOps monitoring startup based in Seattle, has been acquired by JFrog for an undisclosed amount to help round out its package of tools for software developers. JFrog, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., makes several different tools for software development organizations to manage code repositories, such as Artifactory. Multiple developers working on a software project need tools to make sure they’re all pulling from the same sources when adding code to the project, and Artifactory helps manage that process: JFrog’s technology is used by some pretty forward-thinking software development companies, including Google, Netflix, and Amazon.
